How Subtrakt Audio handles data for the website and the Subtrakt macOS app.

Summary

Audio processing in Subtrakt runs locally on your Mac.
Anonymous diagnostics are opt-in (default off). When you turn them on, reports go to api.subtraktaudio.com.
We do not sell personal data.

Website

The marketing site at subtraktaudio.com runs on WordPress. Hosting may collect standard server logs (IP, user agent, URL) for security. No third-party advertising trackers on these pages.

Subtrakt macOS app — processing

Cleaning, remixing, metering, and export happen on-device. Optional model downloads (htdemucs Core ML) come from dl.subtraktaudio.com or documented upstream sources and store under Application Support.

Licensing

Licenses use an offline-verifiable Ed25519 token. Purchase email and payment details are handled by the payment provider once checkout is live.

Anonymous diagnostics (opt-in)

If you enable diagnostics / use Send report, a report may include: app and engine version, coarse hardware class, settings keys (same shape as .subtrakt.json, scrubbed), measurements, license edition / trial state without id, email, or token, timing/errors, and optional thumbs + comment.

Reports are sent to api.subtraktaudio.com only when diagnostics are enabled. We never send audio unless you tick “Share a 30-second clip” for that one report. We never send file names, paths, emails, license tokens/IDs, or input sha256. Reports are retained for 30 days and then deleted.
